Roosevelt Collection Shops Unveils New Mural
Students from the British International School of Chicago – South Loop collaborated with Rich Alapack, founder of “we all live here,” and the team at Roosevelt Collection Shops, an open-air mixed-use development also in Chicago’s South Loop, to create a unique mural central to the neighborhood.
From April to June, all three groups worked together to conceptualize a mural design while having conversations about art, technology, and inclusion, determining how to best convey these complex ideas to the general public through street art.
Every Friday afternoon, Roosevelt Collection visitors saw students hard at work tracing and painting their collaborative mural, guided by Alapack. Unveiled just in time for the culmination of June’s Pride Month, the ultra-bright rainbow stripes have become a focal point for customer interaction, driving both conversation and sharing through social media.
