The 8th Annual St. Baldrick’s Big Shave Shines at The Avenue Viera

For the past seven years, The Avenue Viera has hosted the St. Baldrick’s Big Shave. You might be asking yourself, why a head shaving event? St. Baldrick’s coordinates signature head-shaving events worldwide, giving volunteers the opportunity to “go bald” in solidarity with kids fighting cancer and to raise money to support the best childhood cancer research, wherever it takes place. This year 2,000 people joined together in The Avenue’s Central Park where staff and volunteers shaved bald nearly 300 shavees and raised $200,000 for pediatric cancer research. The Avenue Viera’s fundraising efforts ranked 9th out of 700 signature head shaving events around the nation. The team is already looking forward to next year’s event!
