Lunar New Year Celebration at Roosevelt Collection Shops

To commemorate the Lunar New Year, Roosevelt Collection Shops drew 250+ residents, locals and guests for a winter evening celebration at The Pig Freeze: Lunar New Year 2019. In honor of the Year of the Pig, the Shops unveiled a larger-than-life ice sculpture on the Plaza that included a “piggy bank” element where guests could donate to support Project:VISION, an educational, personal and civic development organization based in the bordering Chinatown neighborhood. The event raised $2,105.00. There was a live performance by Chicago’s Chinese Fine Art Societies Lion Dancers to bring prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year and the first 200 guests received free bao from Piko Street Kitchen food truck and could purchase modern Asian street food from Piko Street Kitchen or cupcakes from A Sweets Girl dessert truck.
